During the tour, it honestly seemed too good to be true. The atmosphere, the staff, the food, and the activities were all so incredible. I kept thinking, this has got to be for show. Well, I was wrong. Bridges is everything they told me it would be and much more! The staff genuinely enjoy being there, and they care for the residents as if they were family. They get to know each one of the residents as individuals and treat them as such. I was only skeptical because of the experience at the last facility, but the people of Bridges, each and every one of them, have proven to be outstanding caregivers, companions, and friends.

TIRELESS ADVOCATES
Bridges is a wonderful place. My dad is there now and we love it. The whole team is a tireless advocate for your loved one. Simple things like the food being really good and the residents going on lunch trips (with no additional charges, etc.) are huge pluses. Every team member is kind, friendly, and upbeat–which is beyond important. The most telling part to me is that when I’m on the phone with my dad and any member of the staff comes in (not knowing I’m on the phone), they are kind to my dad and joke with him. That to me is everything.

EVERYBODY TREATED WITH DIGNITY
All of the staff at Bridges at Norwalk take such good care of my dad, starting from the Executive Director through all the departments. They are so kind and have a genuine interest in ensuring that he and all of the residents are well cared for.
Several who are in direct contact with Dad learned that he also speaks French, and they converse that way every day.
Meals are delicious, and guests are invited to join anytime. The chef is very creative and accommodating.
There are fun, daily activities to keep residents’ bodies and minds active. Dad was presenting to residents and guests about one of the books he wrote. Another resident author did the same a few weeks earlier. The team sees each resident for the whole person they were before their memory began to fail, and they strive to recall and celebrate their accomplishments. Everyone is treated with dignity.
There is a lovely, safe outdoor space with nice sitting areas and a paved walking path, plus a great rooftop area with frequent musical performances in the warmer weather.
The entire team is wonderful, and I highly recommend Bridges at Norwalk to anyone seeking a memory care residence for their loved one.

THE BEST CHOICE FOR OUR FAMILY
It is bittersweet that three and a half years later, I am writing another review for Bridges by Epoch Hingham.
My husband continues to amaze both his family and caregivers as he progresses through this horrible disease. I truly believe it is due to each and every member of his caregiving team and the administration at Bridges, who are very hands-on. My husband walks most of the day, often eating meals on the go, and his communication skills are minimal, yet all of his needs are always being met.
We also, in the past few months, made the difficult decision that my mom also needed more support for her Alzheimer’s journey as well. Once again, I looked at numerous memory care facilities, this time with my dad. Bridges was the furthest away from their home, but he decided it was the community that could best support her needs. My mom and my husband are at very different places in their journeys and are very different in their demeanor, yet Bridges was the best choice for our family once again.

The Executive Director has been consistent and reassuring to us and other families. We always feel informed and included in care decisions. Knowing our loved one is in such capable and loving hands brings us immeasurable peace of mind.
