COVID-19 Update
Since the beginning, Bridges® by EPOCH memory care assisted living communities have diligently monitored and adjusted operations in response to the ever-changing situation around the COVID-19 pandemic. As always, our top priority is to protect the health, safety and wellness of our residents, team members and families.
We continue to follow all virus-prevention and protection measures set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local health departments. We encourage the vaccinations recommended by the CDC to protect our residents and team members.
We want you to know that – now more than ever – we are here for you.
Enhanced Safety Protocols
We understand that families may feel uneasy about a move – and uncomfortable about the prospect of changing regulations related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Simple decisions are no longer as easy, and the question of safety is ever-present – but that’s where Bridges® by EPOCH comes in.
Purposefully Designed, Individual Households
With dedicated staff and highly controlled neighborhoods, we are able to limit exposure risk. Each individual, residential household has its own common areas, including a kitchen, dining room, library and living areas, as well as access to a secure outdoor courtyard for fresh air and exercise. Team members within each household also know residents well – well enough to quickly spot changes in health and behaviors.
Virus-Prevention Protocols and Infection Control
We continue to conduct ongoing COVID-19 testing for team members, and in addition to our regular cleaning and sanitizing, we’ve established enhanced virus-prevention measures. We frequently sanitize all common areas, high-touch locations and more. Handwashing reminders and hand sanitizing stations are present throughout communities. Our team members wear personal protective equipment (PPE), of which an ample supply is always available.
Confidence of 24-Hour Care
One of the best things about life at Bridges® by EPOCH is that we offer 24-hour support with licensed nurses on site and proper safety measures in place. This allows us to limit exposure while providing expert care tailored to the unique needs of those with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia. Just as importantly, it provides families with the peace of mind they desire, especially during this unprecedented time.
Employee & Visitor Policies
All Bridges® by EPOCH team members and visitors are screened with a detailed questionnaire and a temperature check prior to the start of their shift or visit. Family members, vendors, health services providers and other guests will be required to follow our CDC-recommended virus-prevention protocols provided upon arrival, including the wearing of proper PPE.
We understand how important it is for families to see and talk with their loved ones. Family visits are allowed based on state guidance. Please check with your specific community and call to schedule your visit in advance. Families also stay connected with their loved ones through phone calls, video chats and frequent Facebook postings.
Life Enrichment
At Bridges® by EPOCH, keeping residents engaged and socialized – even during a global pandemic – is never a problem. With ongoing life-enrichment programming and stimulation, we help residents avoid feelings of isolation and depression throughout the changing seasons.
Our dedicated life enrichment team continues to adapt programs and events while keeping residents’ safety, health and wellness at the forefront of our minds. This allows us to enhance quality of life through personalized, meaningful activities that engage the interests and abilities of those with memory loss.
COVID-19 Response Team
Stability is what our residents and families expect, and that’s exactly what we provide. In the beginning, EPOCH Senior Living developed a corporate COVID-19 Response Team to diligently monitor the pandemic and adjust operations to protect our residents and team members. From updating and enhancing our policies and procedures to finding creative new ways to enrich the lives of residents while social distancing, we have strived to make life as engaging, safe and normal as possible for seniors who call Bridges® home. The COVID-19 Response Team meets on a frequent basis to review CDC and health department guidance, discuss virus-prevention protocols and vaccine distribution, and address the procurement of necessary supplies.
