The design of Bridges® by EPOCH at Nashua has been thoughtfully and beautifully created with our residents’ needs in mind. Every inch of space has a purpose that helps address the unique issues of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and memory loss and helps provide familiarity, comfort and security in order to help residents live their best lives possible. Our community is divided up into three distinct households: Amherst, Brookline, and Hollis.
The common areas of our households have an open floor plan with complete visibility, which allows our teams to see the entire household at a glance. At the same time, privacy panels help break up the space to help minimize distractions (which can be disorienting and agitating for those with memory loss). Our large windows offer an abundance of natural light, which allows for a natural dose of Vitamin D (something that has been shown to boost mood and increase brain function – and simply make us all feel better). These common areas are designed in a way to welcome residents, families and staff members to gather together for meaningful engagement.
Each of our households also has access to shared spaces for our community at large. We have a peaceful library, which is perfect for reading or for playing games. Our dining area features restaurant-style dining in a family atmosphere, as well as an open, homestyle kitchen that allows residents to see – and be a part of – the cooking process when appropriate. We also have a large, dedicated activity center where our residents participate in personalized life-enrichment programming. Finally, all our residents have access to a beautiful and completely secure courtyard area. The courtyard offers walking paths, comfortable seating, raised planter beds, bird houses and more, allowing residents to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors in complete safety.
Our Households
Each of our three intimate households contains many comfortable and inviting features that help provide happiness and security to our residents and their family members. Each has private or companion suites, so your loved one can live happily in a floor plan that works perfectly for his or her needs. All of our memory care suites are equipped with private bedrooms and a large private or shared bath with walk-in showers with grab bars, as well as individual climate control, automatic nightlights, motion sensor lighting and accent colors in the bathroom that help promote independence. All our suites open up into the household living areas, instead of long corridors, which helps enhance the homelike feel. And, to ensure residents feel comfortable and at home, families are encouraged to furnish their loved ones’ suites with familiar belongings from home.
