Team EPOCH raises more than $10,000 for Alzheimer’s Association

We’re proud to announce that EPOCH Senior Living raised more than $10,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association as part of the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s campaign.

Seven EPOCH communities participated, including four Bridges® by EPOCH communities: Bridges® by EPOCH at Hingham, Bridges® by EPOCH at Westford, Bridges® by EPOCH at Westwood and Bridges® by EPOCH at Trumbull.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our campaigns and joined us in walking for such an important cause.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide and this year more than 450,000 walkers participated. The Walk is the largest Alzheimer’s fundraising and outreach event in the world and is a significant source of revenue for funding scientific research as well as hands-on support services for individuals, their families and caregivers. While fundraising is critical, raising awareness of Alzheimer’s is equally important.

As the Alzheimer’s Association notes, Alzheimer’s is currently the sixth-leading cause of death in the U.S. Approximately 5.1 million people over age 65 have been diagnosed with the disease, while 200,000 people under 65 have been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s.

We’re pleased to contribute to the association and participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and we already can’t wait for next year!
