What Our Families Say

We could fill several websites telling you about our supportive, purpose-built design, personalized life-enrichment programs, and exceptional care and services … but, while remarkable and unique, those are merely the ingredients we use to create the real magic of Bridges – the magic that is shown on the faces of our residents and felt in the hearts of their families.

Love, Affection and Care

My Mom was a resident at Bridges by Epoch in Hingham. I have only wonderful things to say about ALL of the staff, the facilities and the care my Mom received! The facility is brand new and meticulously kept with all of the modern conveniences and decor of a newly constructed home including granite counter tops in the kitchens; inviting living rooms and cozy bedrooms to beautifully landscaped courtyards. While the modern, extremely clean physical structure of the facility is what caught my attention initially, it was the love, care, knowledge and professionalism of ALL of the Bridges staff that won me over! My mother spent the last year of her life as a member of the Bridges Community. Her disease was very complicated creating numerous obstacles in her care. The Bridges staff not only engaged my Mom and the other residents in interesting and fun activities, but they were in constant communication with my family and me. They were very clear right from the start as to what care and services they would be able to provide and worked tirelessly and continuously with my Mom and my family to provide top-notch care. As my mother’s disease progressed, the staff assisted us in creating and supporting my mother and my family with an end of life plan. It was so comforting going through such a very sad and difficult time with the Bridges staff. The out-pouring of love, affection and care they gave my Mom (and my family) was nothing less than spectacular!!! Through this experience, I felt as though I gained an extended family in the Bridges Staff. They are truly amazing people who had touched both my mother’s and my life deeply. I am so grateful!

ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN ACTIVITIES

Deirdre was very professional, courteous and understanding. She made us feel better about making the hard emotional decision to place our mother in a facility. She patiently and directly answered our questions, in a way that showed understanding of our feelings. We knew it would probably be the best thing for her, but it was a hard emotional decision and I think she understood that. All the people we met were down to earth and seemed to genuinely care about their residents. They provide wonderful activities all day, every day. Valerie’s personal caregiver, who helped make the ‘knowledge transfer’ for the first couple of weeks after she moved in, showed us pictures and video of my mother actively involved in activities and she seemed to be enjoying herself very much. We have found that Valerie seems to have made the transition very well. I recommend Bridges in Hingham! Thank you so much for your wonderful care!

COMFORTING AND REASSURING

I was able to join the virtual session and learned so much. EPOCH is so embracing, inclusive and engaging of everyone and all that is so good … for each resident and the staff. So comforting and reassuring.

A POSITIVE APPROACH DURING COVID-19

During this very challenging time for all, staff, clients, and relatives – the likes of which the world has not seen for over a century – the staff has stepped up and taken a positive approach, and shifted from not just caring BUT concern first and then caring! This situation has caused a communication strain that can cause a breakdown in the system, BUT by working as a team, there are other ways to overcome this obstacle. Like a staff member seeing a client likes bacon so that person gets an extra slice. The front desk people being positive, attentive, and greeting people with a smile. Even if it is covered with a mask. Department heads having street smarts to head off certain situations. Other department heads having a keen eye on clients and seeing how they can put a smile on their faces! This all takes teamwork, and a well-oiled team does not always have to communicate verbally; they just know. And in a tough situation like we are all experiencing, this is where they shine! The unsung heroes of Hingham have and are!
Bridges, with an understandable challenge, is trying their best to prescribe a more productive medicine – better than any pharmaceutical could ever prescribe, laughter and smiles!

IN GOOD HANDS DURING COVID-19

I would like to thank the Bridges staff at Hingham from the bottom of my heart. Transitioning my mom from her quaint assisted living facility in Vermont to your Bridges memory care community was a huge transition for our entire family. From the folks at the top to the folks providing the hands-on care, our family couldn’t be more impressed with all that you do! As a hospice worker, I am constantly in and out of assisted living facilities, including memory care units, so I’ve seen it all… or so I thought I had. I have never been anywhere that comes close to what you all do to ensure your resident’s well-being, be it emotional support, safety, and overall wellbeing. Knowing that Mom is safe and in good hands during this Covid-19 pandemic is priceless!! Thank you!!
