What Our Families Say

We could fill several websites telling you about our supportive, purpose-built design, personalized life-enrichment programs, and exceptional care and services … but, while remarkable and unique, those are merely the ingredients we use to create the real magic of Bridges® – the magic that is shown on the faces of our residents and felt in the hearts of their families.

COMPETENCE AND CARING

I placed my wife in the care of the folks in Pembroke, MA. It’s turning out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!

Our experience at Bridges has been wonderful – the management team is superb. They are a professional and caring group and immediately made us feel part of the Bridges family. They have assembled a great staff, the heart and soul of the facility – reflecting management’s goals while being dedicated to the satisfaction of the needs of the residents.

Competence and caring are the entire team’s bywords. “Best of the Best” is an understatement.

I can’t come up with all the words necessary to express how pleased we are with the Bridges team – you know you have a winner here in Pembroke – we sure do!

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCES

I value the Zoom meetings and the educational opportunities. The latter are helpful in enabling me to have a better understanding of dementia diseases, the course to anticipate, the caregiver role and its challenges/demands. Listening to others is always interesting and informative. Each of the participants has different stories, may be at different places depending on the stage the loved one is at, but the participants clearly care, are often quite informed and insightful, and seem earnest in their inquiries, struggles and/or sharing of experiences. All from the comfort of one’s home.

My sincerest thanks to all at Bridges responsible for these wonderful experiences.

HAPPINESS IN HER VOICE

I had a chance to speak to my aunt yesterday. I have not heard the ease and happiness in her voice that I heard yesterday in a very long time. Amazing! I am very happy and relieved that my aunt is in the care of Bridges.

MADE THE RIGHT DECISION

Always a kind word, a soothing hug, a cheery wave, a friendly touch – that’s how every carer, every staff member responds to the residents in their care, every day. My wife has been at Bridges by EPOCH Sudbury for several months now, and it’s plain to see that the Bridges staff walk the walk that every memory care facility should. Premium care of the residents is clearly ingrained in the culture. There’s never an indication of impatience or frustration; never a patronizing word or frown directed to anyone in residence in Bridges. And that leaves me in no doubt that my family and I made the right decision for my wife in finding a new home for her there.

ENGAGING PURSUITS

The new activities calendar came out today – and as for every month, it’s jam-packed with engaging pursuits for the residents of Bridges by EPOCH Sudbury. From the drum-ball circles and ballet barre class and baking dog treats to scrabble club sessions and armchair travel shows, there are no dull moments for residents who want to live life as fully as they can. And did I mention the visiting alpacas? The trips to local state parks? The Sweetheart Tea for Valentine’s Day, family and friends invited? I could not wish for a better mix of things to do for my wife – especially when it had become increasingly challenging for me to help her be engaged when she was still at home.

COMPLETELY CARED FOR

Safe… comfortable… completely cared for…. that’s my snapshot of my wife’s situation at Bridges by EPOCH Sudbury. The Bridges experience has transformed our family’s situation since my wife became a resident there. Try as I might – with abundant emotional and practical support all around me – I had been unable to ensure her safety, never been able to help her take the meds she’d been prescribed, and only occasionally could I encourage her to have the meals she so needed. The overall impact: enormous relief for me as her former primary caregiver, in that I can now refocus on the business she and I started two decades ago, and I can get so much else done. And relief, of course, for my wife in that she now has the stable, secure, routine environment that is so necessary for someone with her condition.
