Meet Our Team: Matthew Aubin, Director of Dining Services

Matthew Aubin joined the team at Bridges by EPOCH at Nashua when the community opened in August 2016. As Director of Dining Services, Matt’s responsibilities include managing dining staff, collaborating with a licensed dietician to design and update Nashua’s menu, placing food orders and menu planning for special events. “It’s important that I maximize all resident and family dining experiences,” Matt said.”I make a point to get to know all the residents, their likes and dislikes, their favorite foods. I make sure to take those things into account when we’re cooking for them. I also really like doing themed meals—a Chinese buffet made from scratch complete with decorations, a homemade Italian dinner to accompany Jazz Night. We’re going to start doing themed lunches every other week.” Growing up in a big Italian family, Matt has always had an affinity for cooking, and for spending time with older adults. “I started working in senior living communities in high school,” he said. “I worked my way from diet aide to head cook to executive chef, and I’ve always cooked for senior living communities. It’s a great way to combine those two passions.” A graduate of Keene State University, Matt is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of Southern New Hampshire. “My ultimate goal is to become the administrator or executive director of a senior living community,” he said.

For now, Matt is excited to roll out Balanced Bites at Nashua, Bridges by EPOCH’s revolutionary new dining program designed to alleviate the difficulty mealtime can present for seniors with dementia through appetizing, nutritious, tapas-style meals that are easy to hold, chew and swallow. We’re grateful to Matt for making dining a special experience at Bridges by EPOCH at Nashua, and we’re lucky to count him as a member of our team!
